The work with religious associations of region is under constant control. Currently the religious situation on the territory of region is stably. Today according to the law of Republic of Kazakhstan «About religious activities and religious unions» in the region registered 78 subjects of religions representing 9 confessions. Еxactly, islamic streams - 46 mosques (1 regional, 2 city, 12 district, 31 rural), 19 orthodox churches, 11 protestant houses of prayer, 1 buddhist religious union, 1 catholic diocese. The main part of religious associations (24 RA) are located in Uralsk.
To date, all procedures and rules in the religion sphere are brought to the same requirements. Thus, have been approved standards for the construction of religious buildings, the assignment of special premises for conducting religious rites outside of religious buildings, the establishment of special stationary premises for the propagations of religious. These documents give an opportunity to control religious relations in one channel. Today in the region there are 16 stationary places registered for spreading religious materials. There are 4 registered chapels in the region (namazhana in Uzynkol, Tau and Talov of Zhanybek district, in Chizha village of Taskala district) and 1- orthodox chapel (village of Kushum in the Zelenovsky district).
In West Kazakhstan region 5 foreign missionaries have passed state registration. Including, from the Republic of Poland - 3 (branch of the Roman Catholic parish in Uralsk), from the Arab Republic of Egypt - 1 (regional central mosque in Uralsk), from the Ukraine - 1 (parish of Christ the Savior Cathedral of the Uralsk Diocese).
